As part of the renovation of the Beyer-Bau, a building complex on the campus of the Technische Universität Dresden, identified structural deficiencies in the beams and ceiling slabs were eliminated through the strengthening with CRC. The deficiencies resulted mostly from the increased performance requirements and the very slender design of the existing structure.

Within the framework of a feasibility study and the subsequent structural design, the strengthening with CRC was proven to be an optimal alternative to demolition and rebuilding of this historic structure. The use of CRC allows the preservation of the existing structure and provides an economical solution. The historic building can therefore continue to be used for a long time, and future generations can inherit a precious building with unique design.
